$88 - OBSESSED!

During my weekend of relaxation I made a trip to Anthropologie (living less than 5 min away is never a good thing) and was in total swoon-ville over all the fabulous stripes! There was seriously too much to choose from... I ended up walking away empty handed (except for this belt) as I needed time to soak in all of the nautical goodness... and hoping by the time I make some decisions they will have been moved to the sale room (don't you just love the sale room that almost never disappoints)!

My plans for this weekend consist of no plans at all - and I couldn't be happier! The boy toy is out of town and it is the first weekend since before the holidays that I have absolutely nothing on the agenda! I plan to sleep in, enjoy long runs in the sunshine, give myself a much needed mani/pedi, lose myself in my stack of magazines, hit up a famer's market for fresh cut flowers, catch up with friends, enjoy a glass or two of vino... overall just relax and enjoy!

Seriously what would spring be without the re-emergence of the beloved nautical trend?? Well thank heavens this isn't the year we will have to find out. Like most years in the past the nautical trend is going to be in full force once again (I mean seriously what is better than navy and stripes). One of my favorite ways to show my nautical pride is with accessories and I for one am always down for a rope necklace why not spice it up a bit and add some knotted gold instead?? Etsy is filled with all kinds of knotted goodness to add the perfect updated (not to mention handmade) accessories to your nautical stripes!

Yeeeooow! Not only is today my blogs birthday... but I won my very first giveaway from Carrie at This Free Bird (one of my daily obsessions!)... I can't believe it has taken me a year to win a giveaway, but boy how sweet it is!

Okay so on to my loot! I won a pair of Minnetonka boots or shoes! Now I am having feelings of stress trying to pick out the perfect pair. Carrie has sported different versions of the boots on her blog (here and here and here), but I am not sure I can pull off the full boho look (Carrie has it perfected)... I am sort of swooning over the moccasins! I think I am going to let the excitement of winning settle before I make any spur of the moment decisions!

It's Been One Year!

Today is my blogoversary! It has been one year since my very first post and I guess my first step into the world that I didn't even know existed - the blogosphere! I seriously had no idea that there were so many creative and talented people out there willing to share their daily thoughts for the world to see. I first started this blog for a creative outlet and sort of a journal for the many things that inspire me throughout the year. I never expected to meet such fabulous peeps and continue to be inspired everyday by others posts. Cant wait for another year in the world of blogging!

With the return of Gossip Girl this week came the return of my obsession with chunky, statement baubles! Seriously I don't even notice the story lines anymore... it is all about their fabulous over the top goodness that hang from their necks! A few favorites this year come from Gemma Redux, Swarovski and a more affordable option Rich Rocks. I seriously want to pile as many on as I can... I cant get enough. There is the option of diy a sparkly bauble but sometimes it ends up costing an arm and a leg for all of the materials unless you have old necklaces in need of a face lift... which maybe I will just stick to F21!

Two of my favorite prints are stripes and polka dots - so I figured why not mix them together?? Seems like the perfect combo to me... both of best worlds. Why not throw out all the rules and mix it up a little!

Maybe it has been all of the neutrals that have been spilling out of my closet for the past two seasons... or maybe it is the colorful blog posts I have been reading (here and here) about neon brights - whatever the case may be I totally have a case of neon fever... my wardrobe is screaming for some bold, neon hues! I posted about my infatuation with neons last year here... so I guess this isn't any new information!

Weekend Wishes...

The weekend is here again! We have a fun on in store... Tonight the boy toy and I have date night - the evening will be filled with yummy food and lots of vino! Tomorrow we have a birthday party to attend during the day up in LA. And I am sure Sunday will be much like last weekend if the weather cooperates again... some afternoon tennis, a walk on he beach match and a delish cookout in the sun... life doesn't get much better!

Typically with my Friday Finds I pick items from different Etsy shops; however, when I came across this shop there was no way I could only choose one item! Seriously Emmakisstina's shop is full of amazing goodness! A majority of the drawings are of items on my dream list (hello Chanel 2.55 - I am talking to you!)... so until my budget is able to find means to pay for these luxuries... pretty illustrations will have to do...

Latest H&M Collab - Swedish Hasbeens

Attention collaboration lovers... H&M has released their latest collab set to hit stores April 20th - the crafted wooden soles of Swedish Hasbeens. They are likely to hit the spot for all of you bohos out there! The line will consist of three styles with prices ranging from $60-$70... a little high in my eyes for a pair of H&M shoes... but I will have to wait and see the actual quality and comfort.

Stripes on a Budget...

Spring is just around the corner (or if you live in Southern California... you are already enjoying the sunshine) and there is nothing better than nautical stripes in the springtime! This dress from F21 equals nautical perfection in my book (notice the braided rope belt) - and at $15 - how can you argue?? It comes in three colors... navy (shown), orange and cream - at $15 why not pick up all three??

Also - In my opinion the boring buttons on the sleeve are screaming for a makeover - I am going to switch out the navy buttons for gold.

Friendship is Forever...

The friendship bracelet trend is still in full force for the upcoming months... and seriously there cant be an easier diy trend - I mean we have all spent hours perfecting our braided threading at one point or another during our childhood... right?? Well Honestly...WTF put a grown-up spin on this playground classic with inspirations from Aurelie Bidermann... seriously this diy project is simple enough even the crafting impaired can conquer this one!

I am going to be on the lookout for a similar bracelet and even a necklace (don't you think this would be a fab summer accessory) at Forever 21 (or more appropriately Forever 28!) for a cheaper version...

Weekend Wishes...

It's the weekend! You better believe that I will be spending it outdoors... we are experiencing summertime conditions (70-80 degrees!) here in San Diego... I guess mother nature is making up for all of those cold, cloudy days we had last summer!
