Survivor...

I am back... and alive to tell about it! Dylan and I got back from our first family camping adventure last night. Dylan's Dad came up with a plan about a year ago to take the whole fam on a four day camping trip on Santa Cruz Island - off the coast of California. Please note that this was the first time that many of us had ever camped... so you can imagine our excitement that all of us made it back in one piece :-) We ended up having a blast... despite the lack of running water! It was actually a nice change a pace... living without showers and electricity... not to mention cell service gave us all a chance to appreciate the smaller things in life.

  1. Camping is always fun to get away for awhile from everything and just relax and enjoy LIFE! Cute blog I just found it and love it! :)

Wait until you camp in a nice cabin, then you can cook better and it's very cosy and woodsy!

  2. The FIRST time? What? That is so foreign to me! ha ha. I grew up camping and have had many a crazy experience back country backpacking. I am so glad you got to go! Yes it can be uncomfortable, the bathroom part is my lest favorite, but it can leave you more connected to reality. The reality that gets lost in the hustle and bustle in life. Glad to hear you had a good time!

  3. Glad you found my blog, so I could find yours :)

I have never been camping before either, so it's good to know you liked it!! I would like a day without technology ~ as stressed as I get if I forget my phone, its kinda peaceful to spend a day without it.

  4. This was your first camping trip ever? I guess I take it for granted, growing up in Washington. I'm glad you had fun! I haven't gone yet this year and I'm itching to sleep under the stars :) xo
