Whaaaaa??

I came across this article today on a couple of different sites... can it be true?? Are my two favorite stores (Jcrew and Anthro) colliding... Ummmmm and no comment on the potential of Sears as a rival bidder (however, I didnt realize they owned Lands End and not going to lie they have some pretty cute things these days)...

Spring Dreaming...

debra lippmann - tiny dancer

priti - forget me not (really excited to try sally hansen in barracuda featured here!)
essie - mint candy apple (last years fav!)

dior - pink boa
priti - geisha girl

mac - very important platinum

Don't get me wrong I am definitely enjoying the winter-like (ok, well-for Southern California standards) weather we have been experiencing... Mother Nature has finally allowed me to break out my chunky sweaters and cozy scarfs; however, I am oh-so excited for the turn of another season just for the pretty pastels that will be adorning my nails...

In Desperate Need of a Shiny Orange Box...

If I had a colorful Hermes scarf I would wrap it in my hair on a day like today... I am scheduled to get my hair done this evening and trust me these roots can not see 5pm soon enough!

A Pot of Rose Gold...

I have always been a huge fan of rose gold - loving that it is pretty much everywhere right now! The perfect way to get your gold fix... in a more understated way.

Party Like It's 2011...

Ringing in 2011 in downtown San Diego - Quality Social

Cheers!

I have been on hiatus for the past couple of weeks... the boy toy took off took off the past two weeks of work... which meant I found little time to blog/read my favs while he was home :-) We had a fabulous holiday season... it was filled with family, friends, travels, shopping, movies and way too much food and vino... it is time to get back to reality! The boy toy has left for Florida for the next week so I will have plenty of time to catch up on my daily favs and work on checking off a few of my new years resolutions!

I hope that everyone had a fabulous holiday season... and a better 2011!

A New Year = New Resolutions...

With the ringing in of a new year... one always begins to ponder what changes should be made to increase their quality of life... well here are mine for 2011...

  • Take better care of myself... which includes being more conscious of what I put into my body... exercise more... go to bed earlier... drink more water (obvi this is always on every ones lists - but I really need to make a better effort at taking care of my body)

  • Step out of my comfort zone in regards to beauty regimen... I have never been much a of beauty buff... my daily skin care routine consists of a shower and cetaphil... I will be turning 29 this year and figure it is well over do for me to begin to preserve my age :-)

  • Get a library membership and read more... this needs no explanation

  • Go through my closet after each season and get rid of anything that hasn't been worn and donate to Goodwill... seriously it should be a sin for how many articles of clothing I have hanging that haven't been worn in years...

  • Find a volunteer position... I have way too much time on my hands to not at least give up an hour or two a week to help others...

  • Sign up for a sewing class... this has been on my list for years... I think this is the year to finally cross it off...

  • Cross off the many diy home improvement projects around the house... we have almost been in our home for three years (come April) and there is a massive list of projects that I have had in mind and have never followed through... well this is the year!

I have my work cut out for me in 2011 - but I think it is safe to say that they are ALL attainable! Here's to a productive 2011!

Rockin' Around the (PINK) Christmas Tree...

Why wouldn't we strike a prom pose in front of the pink tree??

This is my bestie's Christmas tree - no need to adjust your computer - this tree is in fact fluorescent pink! Oh and the best part is - she lives with a boy... however, her boyfriend has learned not to dispute the pink... Nothing says the holidays like a HOT pink tree!

Merry Christmas Eve to you and yours!

I Heart the Holidays...

I know the holidays typically bring out the Grinch in some... the traffic is worthy of causing even the most patient to go insane in the membrane... the malls lack personal space and breathing room... the feeling that money is flying out of your wallet faster than you can say Christmas...

With that said - I love it ALL! It is my most favorite time of year. I love the time that we are able to spend with our family and friends that we don't get to see often throughout the year... love the twinkling of lights when driving through the streets... don't even get me started on the smell of the Christmas tree - LOVE... the coziness the Christmas decor brings to our home... over-indulging in EVERYTHING (and not even worrying about the consequences until December 26th... and my most favorite thing is seeing the excitement on some one's face while opening a gift that you put so much effort into finding...

Birds of a Feather Flock Together...

Birds of a Feather

1. Tory Burch $368 via net-a-porter.com 2. Alice and Olivia $198 via aliceandolivia.com 3. BCBG Max Azaria $198 via bloomingdales 4. topshop $115 via topshop.com 5. Cynthia Rowley $330 via cynthiarowley.com 6. Juicy $298 via saksfiftave.com 7. Mango $98 via johnlewis.com

I am obsessing over anything feathered right now - whether it be skirts of dresses... totally obsessed! I can just imagine myself shakin' my tail feathers (oh so cheesy!) on the dance floor on NYE! Most of the ones I love cost an arm and a leg (shocker!) but don't fret my pets... the ever so talented Erica of Ps... I Made This (who we all know that I LOVE) gave us a quick and easy DIY tutorial for our very own feather skirt so we can all be shakin' our tail feathers while ringing in the New Year!
